Jenny Baillon may use Western medical acupuncture alongside physiotherapy assessment, education, exercise and other appropriate treatment. It is considered as one part of an individual treatment and rehabilitation plan rather than as a standalone cure.
Western medical acupuncture uses fine, sterile, single-use needles and is informed by contemporary knowledge of anatomy, physiology and pain. Within physiotherapy, it may be considered to help manage pain, reduce muscular tension and support more comfortable movement and rehabilitation.
Jenny will first assess your symptoms and discuss whether acupuncture is appropriate. Treatment is only provided with your consent, and the number and placement of needles are adapted to the individual.
Jenny is a current member of the Acupuncture Association of Chartered Physiotherapists.
Jenny will explain the proposed treatment, likely sensations and relevant precautions. Some people notice temporary soreness, bruising, light-headedness or fatigue. You can ask for the needles to be removed at any time.
Acupuncture is not suitable for everyone, so please mention pregnancy, medication, bleeding disorders, needle anxiety or any relevant medical condition.
