Jenny, our senior physiotherapist in Shrewsbury

Meet Jenny

Your Senior Physiotherapist in Shrewsbury

Jenny Baillon is our senior physiotherapist who recently relocated to Shrewsbury with her family from the Channel Islands. In Jersey she ran a successful private practice accepting referrals from Orthopaedic Surgeons as the islands only physiotherapist with a special interest in the foot and ankle.

She is uniquely qualified as a dual professional in Podiatry and Physiotherapy. Having qualified as a Podiatrist in 1991, she then gained 10 years experience in the profession working for the NHS. This encompassed gait analysis, paediatrics, biomechanical assessments and the prescription and provision of orthotics for foot, knee hip and back pain. She also gained experience of foot surgery working for a Podiatric Surgeon.

Jenny wished to expand her skills and retrained as a physiotherapist in 2002. The two professions complement one another allowing her a unique insight into injury and rehabilitation. Jenny has nearly 20 years physiotherapy experience working in the UK and Jersey, in the NHS and in private practice as a musculoskeletal physiotherapist.

Her specialist interest is the diagnosis and management of leg and foot conditions and injuries, however she has extensive experience treating neck, back and upper limb joints also. Jenny provides physiotherapy advice to the GB Rifle Talent pathway and injury prevention training for their elite athletes. Physiotherapy and podiatry are rapidly changing professions but Jenny has stayed current and up to date with the latest research based treatments by attending a wide range of courses.

In recent years she has attended biomechanics and orthotics courses by leading Podiatrists, conferences from The Association of Ankle and Foot Physiotherapists and hypermobility courses to name but a few. A recent practical course on strength and conditioning for physiotherapists, has enabled her to successfully treat her patients with a blend of strength and conditioning combined with Pilates style exercise and traditional physiotherapy exercises. As a keenly hands-on Physiotherapist she can facilitate a faster recovery for her patients. She enjoys problem solving difficult cases and finding the route of the problem by treating her patients holistically and with a strong biomechanical bias.

Jenny strongly believes you should enjoy your physiotherapy, there will be lots of laughter as she challenges you to achieve your goals.
